Understanding The Different Type of Cakes

Freshly Baked Products

At LE PETIT EMPIRE Designer Cakes, all our cakes, cupcakes and confectionery products are freshly baked and crafted by hand. As each and every item is as individual as the person who made it, slight variations from the original website image may occur.

Handling

When collecting cakes, please carry your purchase with the utmost care. Bags and boxes must be held upright and level at all times to avoid decorations from falling off a cake or a cupcake from toppling over. Please refrain from holding more than one bag in one hand as this will make the cakes tilt and slide towards the side of the cake box. We at LE PETIT cannot be held liable for damaged items once they have been handed over to the customer.

If transporting by car, place them onto a level, non-slip surface and avoid bumpy roads.

Do note that our cakes come in tall customized boxes.
If you are opting for an early delivery time slot/ collecting early
and are planning to store the cake in the refrigerator,
please ensure that there is sufficient space for the box.

Approximate Cake Box Size:
4 inch: Width (8.5 inch, 21 cm) x Height (11.5 inch, 29 cm)
6 inch: Width (10 inch, 26 cm) x Height (12 inch, 30 cm)
8 inch: Width (12 inch, 30 cm) x Height (13 inch, 33 cm)
10 inch: Width (13.5 inch, 34 cm) x Height (14 inch, 36 cm)

BUTTER-BASED CAKES

Example:

  • Pound Cakes
  • Butter Cakes
  • Mud Cakes
  • Red Velvet
  • Brownie

Characteristics :
Packed with ingredients, denser and tender texture.
Structurally stronger to hold up under the weight of the fondant and/or decorations.
Most ideal for celebration or parties as it can stay out in an *air-conditioned venue for up to 4 hours.

Serving Recommendation:
Product best consumed at room temperature. (22°C – 25°C)

Storage Recommendation:
Best stored in chiller if consumption is not immediate. Retrieve from chiller 2 – 3 hours before consumption for the cake to be served at room temperature.
It is not recommended to display or store cakes without air con, especially under the hot sun or in warm and humid areas.

Shelf-life:
Chilled up to 3 days in an air-tight container.
Leave to room temperature before consuming.
For maximum taste and a soft moist texture we recommend that all our cakes should be enjoyed at room temperature and on the day of purchase.

FOAM-BASED CAKES

Example:

  • Sponge Cakes
  • Chiffon Cakes

Characteristics :
Light, airy and spongy texture.
Not recommended for fancy heavy decorations or fondant cakes
Best kept chilled till serving.

Serving Recommendation:
Best eaten chilled.

Storage Recommendation:
Best stored in chiller till consumption.

Shelf-life:
Chilled up to 3 days in an air-tight container.

MOUSSE CAKES

Characteristics :
mousse is a soft prepared food that incorporates air bubbles to give it a light and airy texture.
It can range from light and fluffy to creamy and thick, depending on preparation techniques.
Not recommended for fancy heavy decorations or fondant cakes
Best kept chilled till serving.

Serving Recommendation:
Best eaten chilled.

Storage Recommendation:
Best stored in chiller till consumption.

Chilled up to 3 days in an air-tight container.

CUP CAKES

Example:

  • Cream Cup Cakes
  • Fondant Cup Cakes

Serving Recommendation:
Remove cupcakes from the fridge 30 minutes before consumption.

Storage Recommendation:
Best served at room temperature

Shelf-life:
Chilled up to 3 days in an air-tight container.

DIETARY & ALLERGEN INFORMATION

At LE PETIT EMPIRE Designer Cakes we want to ensure that you have all the information you need regarding product ingredients and preparation.

All our products are made in a kitchen that handles NUTS, GLUTEN (WHEAT), DAIRY, EGG, & SOYA.

Cross-Contamination
Please be aware that all of our products are baked and prepared in our dedicated kitchen facilities, which also handle all the main allergens including NUTS, GLUTEN (WHEAT), DAIRY, EGG and SOYA. Our online and in-store products are all made within the same kitchen facilities. Our team takes all the necessary steps to ensure cross-contamination doesn’t happen, however, there is always a risk that one of our products (which contains the main allergen ingredient e.g. NUTS) could have come into contact with another product. We advise anyone with a food allergy to speak to us before deciding whether to purchase.

No Pork, No Lard
All our products are baked and prepared in a No Pork, No Lard Kitchen.

Alcohol
We do have a very limited number of products that contain alcohol. *It the product contains any it will be indicated on each product information.

Vegetarian/Vegan
We have a range of products that eggless.
